So I have been away from the computer for a while. Sorry about that. My first summer with a child at home full-time has been quite an experience and I have fallen behind on quite a few things that aren't centered around family...and I feel like that is ok. It has been good to reconnect after such a hectic spring.
Anyway, I will start announcing where I will be teaching next year with the next few posts...and no, it won't be a month (plus!) between each post! It is hard to believe that I am already planning out 2011! My first announcement is that I have been added to the Art and Soul Vegas roster!
I was sorry to miss Barry...I hear he is doing swell after his hip replacement surgery on both hips...no really, who doesn't love "Copacabana?"
It was a lot of fun this year and I think next year is going to be even better! I am not a gambling woman by nature, so staying in a casino was not my idea of a good time. I felt like I was on sensory overload every time I had to walk through the lobby/casino! Next year the event will be held at Green Valley Ranch Resort, away from the strip.
I did enjoy walking around and taking photos of all of the sights! Here are just a few...
Bally's is where we stayed and this is one of the entrances...you felt like you were in a time warp/wormhole as the moving sidewalk carried you beneath bright neon rings...
My splurge on the trip was a ticket to see Cirque Du Soleil's "O". Words cannot describe the performance...and you walked through a gallery of life-size marble statues of the performers to reach the auditorium...eye candy layered upon eye candy!
The phenomenal chocolate fountain (yep, that is dark, milk and white chocolates flowing!) at the Jean Phillipe Patesserie in the Bellagio...Willie Wonka ain't got nothin' on these guys!
And here are a few other sweet views from the same store...
Here is the ceiling...I WANT this in my house!!!
Now on to the classes...which were great! So many fun students and so much wonderful artwork created!
Here is the gleesome threesome! You gals rocked!
The lovely participants in the Butterfly Boxes class...they could be showgirls on the Strip!
Decisions, decisions...
And a wee pixie from the Perching Pixies class...she is lucky I didn't snatch that precious hanger out of her hand!
And where else but Vegas could you stumble upon a retrospective exhibit of romance novel cover art? Awesome.
So come and join me in Vegas, February 28- March 3, 2011. I am teaching House of Cards and Treasure Collector Doll, two all new classes! And remember, the vendor night is February 27, at the BEGINNING of the event instead of at the end, so plan to get in that afternoon!
See you there!
