Written In Stone

So I would like to say, "Happy Valentine's Day everyone!" 

My husband and I visited the north coast of California last August.  We made our way down to Shelter Cove (a circuitous route if ever I have traveled one!) and stayed at the lovely Tides Inn.  We spent several hours one morning on Black Sand Beach.  As always, I had my eyes down, scouring the stones we scrambled over.  They were a wonderful dark charcoal grey with bright white inclusions running through them (basalt and marble?).  I picked up several that looked vaguely like Asian symbols...then I saw one that looked like an "O"...and the hunt began!  These photos are of actual stones that we collected.  Enjoy!
